Challah Cover - Taupe Wavy Linen

$70

Why do we cover the challah during Shabbat? Though there are many explanations, tradition being one of them, it's taught that the bread is the highest blessing during a meal, as it represents our basic staples and nourishment. On Shabbat, we begin with the Kiddush blessing on a luxurious cup of wine – to not "shame" the importance of simple and basic bread, we cover the challah while Kiddush is said. Jewish literature often links Shabbat to a bride. Just as the veil of a bride is lifted under the chuppah, the challah is uncovered before the recitation of the blessing.

Care: Hand wash only in cold water. Use mild detergent. Do not wring. Do not bleach. Lay flat to dry. Dry clean recommended.
